Resistant H Pylori & Ulcer

What is a Resistant H. Pylori and Chronic Ulcer?

H Pylori is not a simple infection. Over time, it has learned to survive traditional antibiotic treatments by developing both Active and Passive resistance mechanisms.

This resistance allows the bacteria to persist in the stomach and duodenum, maintaining inflammation and preventing ulcers from healing.

1. Passive Resistance or Biofilm Formation:

The Biofilm acts as a physical shield, preventing antibioticsfrom reaching the bacteria effectively.

2. Active Resistance

Through Efflux Pump mechanism or by using Enzymes, antibiotics are made ineffective or broken down.

3. Deep-Seated & Intracellular colonization

Chronic H. Pylori Infection is not caused by resistance alone but the H. pylori deeply embed themselves deep within the stomach lining and inside cells, thus making it harder for antibiotics to reach them

4. Persistence of Stomach & Duodenal Ulcers

Healing is almost non-existent due to the other three factors and is further delayed by reduced blood flow, poor diet or food choices, unhealthy lifestyle habits, and factors such as stress.
